How to Leave Feedback

Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:36 pm

Our feedback system is designed to provide information about a member with whom you had a transaction with as a buyer, seller or a trade. While submitting feedback is not required, it is highly recommended because it can be used by other members to determine if someone has had any good or bad transactions with other members of the forum. Simply put, positive feedback is appropriate for a transaction with good communication which is completed in a timely manner. Positive feedback may also be used when you have a particularly good experience with someone. Perhaps they gave you a PIF, or did some other good deed. In this case, just choose any of the buyer, seller or trade options, but describe the situation in the comments field. Negative feedback should be reserved for transactions where one party has lost either time, money or goods or the delivered product is substantially different than advertised. Lastly, neutral feedback may be used for the infrequent situations that do not fall into either of the other two categories. Please use the comment section to describe why you gave the rating you did. To be clear, retaliatory feedback is not tolerated and should be reported to a moderator.

Here is how to leave feedback:

1. After a deal, go to the other member's profile and click on the link (feedback number and percent) beside the word "Feedback"
a. Click on the button "Add Feedback"
b. Select the role of the member for which you are leaving feedback (e.g.: if they were the buyer, select buyer)
c. Select the type of feedback you wish to leave (see below for some helpful guidelines)
d. Type some comments to describe the reason you left that type of feedback.
e. Click "Add Feedback"

Here are some guidelines for leaving appropriate feedback:

2. An agreed upon item, condition and price constitute a deal; once an agreement has been reached, the buyer and seller should consider that they have done a handshake on the deal.
a. If the condition of item is not as described, then leaving a negative feedback would be appropriate, barring mitigating action on behalf of the seller
b. There is a mutual obligation of both the buyer and the seller to establish a date/time/location to meet

3. Date/Time and location (or shipping information) are a secondary part of the deal
a. If one party fails to arrive at the agreed upon location at the proper time or fails to ship the item in a timely fashion, negative feedback is appropriate
b. Unless there is a disagreement with condition or description (see 1a), changing the terms of the deal at the meeting is not acceptable and grounds for negative feedback

Even with these guidelines in place, there will be occasional disputes between a buyer and a seller that involve a considerable amount of grey area. When this happens, notify one of the moderators and include a link to the original thread. When one of the moderators responds, please be prepared to forward copies of all PMs, text messages and emails regarding the transaction. By selling and buying on WaGuns you agree to abide by the final decision of the moderator team regarding any dispute. Arbitrating disputes is not the job of the moderator team, but if we're asked to deal with a problem we expect you to respect and abide by our decisions.

Bumping this up as we've made some substantial changes to the guidelines for giving feedback. Please be sure to review the post above and understand how feedback works on WaGuns. If you have any questions or concerns (about the guidelines or a specific deal you were involved in), please do not hesitate to contact a moderator.

Bump . . . please do use the feedback system, for both positive and negative. It's one of the things that sets us apart from other sites, and when used correctly will help to minimize the "flakes."
