Yes, it is.

How do you know yours is better?

It wasn't a "my way is better" post. I was asking if you're sure that mount is solid, because it doesn't look like a very solid mount, and the target you posted is what you'll get with a mount that has a little movement.

I was trying to be helpful by offering another option for a mount that I know is solid, but never mind.

If you decide to try a better mount...

If you tell me that your product is better, expect that I will ask how you know it's better. I'm usually interested in learning from people that know better than I do.

As I said, the mount I linked to is rock solid, and I know this because I used it. I thought that was obvious from the post, are you asking something else?

What you're using might be secure enough, or it might not. It's definitely not low enough to be ideal, so the XS mount is better in that respect.

Yes, I shimmed it and bore sighted it, then shot it. It took me three or four times to get it right but, it's better.
Sagela suggested a method for correction that would have taken just one shot but, I didn't have enough MOA left in the turrets. Even with them turned max I was 7" away from center. I suspect that mount is machined fine but, the rifle is likely not square. Even to get the reticle level I use three levels because the receiver is not flat or square where the magnet goes.

This suggestion comes a little late in the game, but you could use the Burris rings and inserts to get there as well. The Burris setup comes with a handy little chart to help you figure out how much adjustment you need and where to rotate the rings.http://www.burrisoptics.com/mounting-systems/rings/xtr-signature-rings

That system would have been the ticket! I even looked at their scopes when shopping but, I must have over looked that feature.
