I have 2 original 44/40 saddle ring carbines. Almost smooth bore. Gotta reline, re square receiver, rust blue, and return one in 44/40. Other will get the same treatment but become a 38/40. Both require some welding an re tapping of threaded holes.

I will.. really hoping I don't need to make oversized locking lugs for these.hoping it was black powder that shot them out. One is WW1 era other is one of 12k without model markings for export. 1909 I believe from memory.

Barrels are lined an installed. Rust bluing has begun. Offset barrels to show close up an far in same shot. One 44/40, one 38/40

So if I zoom up on that pic, am I seeing the new barrel liner inside the original barrel?
