I was talking to a friend in Queensland AU and he was telling me about some of their firearms categories. I figured you guys might get a laugh out of some of these. They classify body armor as a weapon as well as various other weird ones. This one was my fav:

"(g) a Chinese throwing iron that is a hard non-flexible plate having 3 or more radiating points with 1 or more sharp edges in the shape of a polygon, trefoil, cross, star, diamond or geometric shape and constructed or designed to be thrown as a weapon;"

Not quite sure what you're asking. My friend was telling me that if you want a weapon in those categories, you have to get the license that goes with it. So to get say, the weapon known as "Body Armor", you would have to get a Category E License. He was saying it's extremely hard and often times you have to justify why you want it. He also showed me this story here where a man went to jail. The license he had only allows him to use it against animals eating his crops or something and he went to use it to secure a thief (Unloaded and he didn't point it at the guy) till cops arrived. It made me feel slightly better about even CA or NY gun laws
