What could you possibly do with a firearm that would result in the harm to another person that isn't already illegal?

Laws on to of laws do nothing to prevent something that is already against the law...

If these people (the felons everyone is trying to prevent getting a gun) are so dangerous, why did we let them out of jail?

I went to a gun club meeting right before I-594 was voted in and the coin club was there, closing shop. They found out that I was with the gun club and the gun owners in the coin club were talking the merits of "if it saves one life". So I disagree, I think the gun owners were divided on I-594, something to our detriment.

Gun owners were united when Initiative 676 tried to get rammed thru, the so called "Trigger Lock initiative":

Gun owners were divided with the background check issue, even with public proponents of the 2A.

Background checks are one thing.
594 is something out of Satan's book.

Jackass I think in general you are correct before the election. I probably should have said after the election and gun owners who are even semi conscious what this steaming pile of shit is all about.

Should of written it so the BGC HAD to be done at the police station... for free... no appt. needed... and make them stay open until 9pm every night!

The OPTION of having a background check done at 'a' police station, not necessarily your nearest one, during normal business hours.
However, that would involve a cost to the taxpayer they would not want to incur.
It is telling that the bill did not mention the true expense, since a dispriviledged minority would have to pay it.

A better question is how many prohibited people were denied from getting a gun vs before.... (we don't know that number either)

The answer to that question is zero, or as close to zero as makes no difference. You don't have to know the actual value to know that the result is meaningless!

A better question is will supporters of 594 that believe it has or will have an effect on scumbags ever get a clue as to reality. Probable answer: No.
