Hey guys,

Im curious about this, as Im fairly new to CC (2 weeks now of actual carrying). I bought a new to me glock 26, and an alien gear IWB holster.

Would it be considered concealed if its ITWB but shirt not tucking it? Im just trying to figure out what exactly would that be considered? CC thats poking out? or open carry?

Legalities of doing that?

like this.

I'd call that open carry.

Yes, it's legal. Typically, though, people that open carry will use an outside-the-waistband holster because they're more comfortable.

That's an ultra easy grab for some lucky hoodlum if it's not secured a bit better than that imo. Try a tucked in t-shirt with an un-tucked button up shirt over the top of it all. I prefer to keep my conceiled carry handgun a close kept secret.

A good point.

If you're going to open carry, I would do it with a holster that has some kind of positive retention for the gun.

Hm, I think I may just add a light sweater for dress clothes. Jeans and such I'll tuck a shirt over, or a sweater.

Any recommendations for a level 1 retention holster?

If you want to tuck in your shirt, why not get a tuckable IWB holster like a Crossbreed?

Alien gear is tuckable, I just didn't want to tuck the shirt in over the pistol. The holster is called cloak tuck 3.0, I believe it is fairly "tuckable" like the name implies

My IWB holsters are almost all "tuckable," but I rarely tuck my shirt in when using them. When I do, I just find myself messing with the shirt so much to keep it straight that I don't feel comfortable.

I'll typically just wear an untucked shirt, either button-down or a T-shirt.

That is straight up gangsta!! If you carry like that you also have to be able to shoot holding the gun horizontally when you push out from your chest.

Oh well, thats too bad.... I can only shoot holding the gun vertically.... I think I need to work on that too...

I am going to start tucking a t-shirt over the pistol now on. I went to walmart wearing a zip-up sweater, that was unzipped. While I got out of the car, didn't realize that the butt of my gun had caught the bottom of my sweater and was protruding the entire time.... No one said anything, but after I bought my ammo and went to zip-up my sweater before leaving (wind was blowing HARD) realized that it was poking out the entire time. I felt extremely stupid.....

Yeah, that's the hassle of carrying IWB behind your back like that. Get out of the car, bend over, reach up, whatever . . . there are a lot of motions that can prop your shirt up on top of the gun.

Gotta keep checking, but without continuously checking.

When I used to have a holster for my carry piece, thats the way I rolled. Classy as fuck, comfortable and hidden in plain sight. Both OC/CC is legal in this state and god damn I love the feels of choice.

Now if you really wanna look like a CC guy, I suggest finding yourself a fishing vest aka 'shoot me first vest' to wear over. And a hat. A tan hat.

Lollllllll.

Hm yea, I think i figured out how to keep that from happening. I lowered the holster by 2 setting.. Last night around 10 pm is started playing with the holster adjustments, thinking if i put the clips at the top holes it would go lower down... It was the reverse, so I lowered it by 2 settings and well now the there is knuckle room between the grip and my belt. Hopefully doesn't hook on anything anymore.
