OK, so I said that before and I'll probably say it again.
I looked around the safe one day and realized that I had AR's in different types/styles, a few pistols, and a couple of precision Bolt Actions. Problem is that there were only .223, ,.308, and 30-06 calibers.
Got the urge to build a 6.5mm Creedmoor and maybe this time not spend as much as the last time. Yeah, right.
At least I started inexpensive. Bought a Savage 10T Tactical from Cabela's. Good price and even got the "GI Discount".
Took it to the range one time to kind of get a baseline for performance. Rifle itself worked flawlessly from a mechanical standpoint. The stock sucked. AccuStock they say? I say Bull Crap. A rubber stock with a piece of aluminum window track extrusion for a "bedding block".
Solution was simple. An MDT TAC-21 Chassis. Second one I've bought and really loved the first one. Decided to go cheap on scope so I'm using an old BARSKA I've had for years. OK scope for the range, just not a good field scope. Essentially just a "placeholder". Since I have the Nightforce NXS I'll just swap it from chassis to chassis, As they're the same chassis, chances are there won't be much difference in zero so I'll just log the changes so I can swap back and forth as I feel the need.
Already had the Sinclair Varmint/Tactical bipod so I didn't need to buy new. Add a 5 round and 10 round Magpul magazine to help feed this.
Anywhere, another rifle to build some loads for. For now I'll just shoot some factory ammo in order to get empty brass. The Hornady brass is good stuff so I'lll be good to reload soon.
Here are the two MDT TAC 21 Rifles side by side. The .308 with a Remington action and the 6.5 Creedmoor with a Savage action.
