Boring list of parts in the build
Aero upper, NiB BCG, stainless 16" barrel, charging handle, and buffer tube assembly.
Tennessee Arms poly lower and muzzle brake
generic handguard I bought because it was cheap and bolted everything together until some far nicer ones I had input on arrive in the US.
Imported bipod and QD scope mount, there is a Simmons scope I'm indifferent to sitting in there right now just because I had it in the mount, I've got a pretty decent 2-7 imported scope I'll switch it out with before I dial it in w/ illuminated rangefinding reticle.
C Products Defense and Pmag .308 mags fit, drop free and feed well in this, although brass comes out slightly scratched up in the C Products mags.
Mike at Olympic Ceracoat did a great job with what I ordered to be a basic quick and dirty coating of the barrel, as I just wanted something on there, but wasn't sure what final form everything was going to take. I'm very pleased with the coating and when I finalize a few things I'll be having him do a higher grade job on the whole gun.
I-5 guns did the lower transfer and bolted the upper together quick and cheap.
Some quick cellphone pics (memory card in my camera died, new one arrives tomorrow. Pics taken w/ C Products Defense mag in it.)
This was entertaining. While the aesthetics of the molding are funky, the fun part was when I did a test assembly at I-5 and the rear takedown pin jammed, and then popped out. They used too long a spring in there, and Mike had to cut it down about 3 coils to actually work. Works fine now.
Very nice ceracoating. Pretty nice for what was ordered as a cheap basic coating.
