Made from 1947 to 1949, holds 20 rounds of .22LR in it's magazine tube. 1 turn in 16" of rifling, four groove barrel, .217 diameter bore, 26" barrel, walnut stock and fitted with a peep sight, hooded front sight with multiple sight blades, and a trigger which adjusts from 2.5 to 5 pounds. Overall a VERY NICE shooting rifle.

Cool rifle. They don't make 'em like they used to.

Thanks, I love this gun. Never saw fit to buy a more modern .22 in it's same class simply because the only way to do better than this would be to start moving up to better grade CZ's and I don't shoot well enough to tell the difference.

Adjusting for inflation, this rifle was the same as a $250 rifle today, the 4x scopes sold as an option ran about $125 in today's money.

A comparable set of irons as shipped with this rifle run about the same value as a scope.

Looking at modern Savage .22 bolt rifles which seem to be the closest modern equivalent, there doesn't seem to be much price difference; in other words you are looking at spending about $300-350 for a decent scoped bolt target rifle or to fit it with basic peep sights and such.

I think you can still get them "like they used to" and for around the same price point.

S-130 peep sight was OK.
Is that the original sling?
Wouldn't take much to refinish the gun to look like new.

I like the S130, but understand the S300 is better. Someday I may upgrade the sights on this.

No, not original sling by a long shot. Came with a leather one I gave to a friend who wanted it for a restoration.

I'd keep it original.
But I would touch it up.

Little bit of steel wool and some cold blue.........

thinking about it. I'm probably going to order a scope mount from Havlin sales to put on there

It is a joy to shoot with those sights.
