My bank account (and wife) hoping revolvers don't turn into a full on addiction. Now just need to take her out shooting.

Nice choice. You're boned as far as the addiction goes. No cure for that. Enjoy your new toy.

Great guns. I still have a SS 2 3/4" .357 Security Six I bought new in 1983. Is it a .357? Yours looks very clean. They also made some in 9mm, which is a real find. Used by Army and Navy criminal investigators.

That looks like a great wheelgun... Enjoy and have fun...
Have always been a huge fan of revolvers... Ruger Blackhawk, Ruger SP-101 are great , classic designs. Have never shot the Speed Six before. Looks like a beautiful gun.
If you find the DA pull gritty or heavy, give Fred and Christa at CaR Firearms a call. Fred can do a pretty mean trigger job on DA revolvers. Makes them much more fun to shoot. A good action job will also lighten up the SA trigger pull as well. He did an action job on my Smith PC627 for very reasonable cost and quick turnaround as well.

A 4" Speed Six was my first dbl action wheelie, too - so long ago they don't look much similar.
Light .38 loads in a hvy revolver are a dream to shoot - and the preferred way for a first-timer to go center fire handgun. Recoil is ultimately controllable and noise isn't "magnum."

Thanks for the info and encouragement. It's a .357 and based on the serial number, manufactured in 1975, approximately.
Anybody got a leather IWB holster for a K frame/medium revolver they want to sell?

Oh hell no! You don't want that! What a lousy choice of weapons. You're gonna hate it. Lucky for you, I will gladly remove that scourge from your life, Oh wait, I already have three. What the hell, for YOU, I'll still take that crummy lump of steel off you.
Speed sixes and Security Sixes were my first revolvers and they are literally bullet proof. Nice handling, accurate and easy on the eyes, just like my wife.
Congrats on your gun, it will last you a lifetime.

No, but if you get a good line on a 2 3/4" OWB Six holster let me know, been looking for one. PS Ruger barrel is 1/4" longer so you need an open bottom if using a 2 1/2" K frame Combat Mag holster.
