I have yet to buy one, but the early Model 1891 Mosin-Nagants had 31" Barrels, and some of the Type 38 Arisaka's had 31" barrels too. Both were over 50" long.

But the M48 Mauser is only 43" Long, and the M44's are 40" each. They're not too long if you think about it. The biggest problem is the Bolt Handle!

And I have over 100 Clips for the Mauser, and 20 for the Mosin's. Enfied's are actually the way to go, Preloaded Mags! And no doubt someone could manufacture a 20-Round Enfield mag.

For the price, couldnt you just MAKE a case OUT OF Mosin's?

That's because the Japanese thought that the only true fighting tool was a sword. This long rifle was viewed as merely as something to attach the bayonet to. The fact it fired bullets was a bonus.

Just use an SKB case with wheels on one end and a handle on the other. I've got one that I carry my .308 in. Can also carry an AR, two pistols, and ammo for all. The only time it's an issue is lifting it to the tailgate after a long day of shooting when I'm tired.

I've also got a Pelican Case that my old employer wanted to throw away. Holds three AR's as long as I separate uppers and lowers along with LOTS of loaded mags. Also is a Roll Around case.

Wheels can become your best friend with a heavy case.
