The rifle is 922r compliant. There were no foreign parts added to the rifle, it also includes US made Dr-200 trigger, disconnector, piston, mag, and hammer, only US parts keeping the rifle within compliance of 922r, at a count of 9. The rifle in its current specs is still long enough to be a legal rifle being longer than 26" OAL and having a >16" barrel.

I have the butthole stock, but I'm not putting that thing on it. I might get an ACE skeleton or folder. I've got a heavy duty steel hinge for it.

Pretty cool . . . rather unique, which I like.
Is this new? Have you shot it?
I'm always intrigued when I see them up for sale, but I've never taken the plunge . . . .

I have yet to shoot this one. I had a pre ban DR-200 years ago when I lived in Montana. I put somewhere around 6 or 7 thousand rounds through it, and never had a single FTF or FTF. They really are the best of both worlds... AR and AK's. Of course now, you have to screw with the stupid 922r crap when you pull the ugly stock off, but its really not a big deal. You just have to make sure that you don't end up with more than 10 "evil import parts" left when you are through "building" it. The stupidest gun laws ever passed. You have to add at least 3 USA made parts when you take the butthole stock off. Which is easy because the FCG is cheap and is 3 USA parts. Add a USA gas piston, or flash hider, and you are well under the limit.
And yes, they ARE fun to shoot in this configuration. With a sling, "from the hip". Big fun. Accuracy is typical milspec. Not fantastic, but pretty good. I like the charge handle setup on these, and they take any AR 15 mags, but you have to watch it, if you are at 10 import parts, that you don't use imported mags, or you will be OVER the limit. God, I hate Bill Clinton.
I think they are the AR15 perfected. I wish somebody would copy the design for the larger market.

Dammit. Asking for your opinion could get expensive.

They can be found "relatively" cheap. I see them occasionally for 700-800 with the butthole stock..
Some info....
"The Daewoo is an interesting rifle. Daewoo is licensed by Colt to build the M16 in Korea. They combined what is basically a AR15 lower with an AK long-piston gas system upper. The gas system has an adjustment that is basically the same as an FAL, as are the handguard shape. While a 1-12" twist forces the owner to stick to the 60 and under grain bullets - 55-grain M193 loads are still cheap and popular. The barrel and chamber is chrome-lined and the 18.5" barrel a nice compromise between standard AR lengths. Although it doesn't detract whatsoever from using the rifle, the AWB made the front "flash hider/brake" into a solid piece with no holes. The original K2 had brake holes that were concentrated to the upper right to counteract recoil. The front sight is very HK-like, the rear like a Garand. The reciprocating bolt can be used to force bad rounds into the chamber, no weak forward assist, ala M16. The original K2 stock is a tubular folder like is found on an FAL Para model. (One ACE model replicates this stock.) Another FAL feature is the latch that allows the upper to hinge apart at the rear just like an FAL, rather than having to drift out a pin like is done with the AR15. Controls are basically M16/AR15 controls"
.
"The Daewoo DR-200 is the best of all worlds. This version of the Korean military's K-2 was imported by Kimber of America during the early to late 90's and fills the void in the Daewoo K-2 world created by the Clinton Assault Weapon Ban of 1993. Although this version comes with a thumbhole and a "fake" flash suppressor, it is still basically a K-2 at heart.
The great thing about the K-2 family is the way that all the great fighting firearms of the world have been wrapped up in one gun. The Daewoo has a hybrid gas system of an AK and an L1A1, the trigger, magazine, and bolt group are based off of the M-16, and the buffer assembly is almost identical to the HK G-3/MP5 family. All this makes for the finest .223 assault gun on the planet."

I installed a Stormwerks handguard/rail on it today. I'm still waiting on the folding buttstock that I ordered.

It definitely looks more badass.
Is it noticeably heavier?
Are you planning to put anything on the rails?

Are you planning to put anything on the rails? A tad heavier. The old guard was just some sort of plastic. I'm definitely getting an optic. I just haven't decided what I want to go with. ACOG or Aimpoint. Or ??

I just don't know how much magnification I want to go with. ACOGs are so damn nice. I wish I would have kept my last one, and not sold it with the AR it was on.

It's too good looking to have the standard EoTech on it. Needs something with some pop to it, something that says "Go Ahead and Try and Eat My Brains". A nice long Leupold red dot?

Or maybe a Trijicon Accupoint M24 1.5-4x I dunno.
I never cared much for the Eotechs.
