Nice!!
Ij ust redid a sks and used that Tru-oil stuff, it works very well and only cost like 5 bux for a bottle, on my last coat i scuffed it up again with 0000 steel wool while using their gun stock wax as i didnt want to mirror finish on a sks. it turned out very well |

Would a big hole in the stock like that make my Papoose worth more? Or less?

let the cutting begin. I picked up a wood stock today. problem is i don't have a router so we'll see how far i get this weekend

Well.. I was inspired to say the least. Stripping the finish was a pain, so far ive just reprofiled the squared edges of the stock. I need to pick up a router and table, hopefully cheap so i can set the receiver and barrel. Atleast for now I can work on the grip and butt, not sure if im going to cut it out like Carpenter had done, well see how bored i get.

Still have minor fitting to do, more sanding and apply a finish. It turned out pretty good.. not to much of a pain in the ass.

After that dried I started putting on coats of tru-oil while sanding it back down with 000 and 0000 steel wool in between coats. I'm not done with coats of tru-oil yet but I'm taking a break for now. Wish I would have taken a bit more time in a few areas but I started rushing cause I was putting way too much time into it. Thanks to Greg I had to swap out my original stainless Takedown for one of the threaded barrel takedowns while in the middle of hacking my stock up. Well on to the pic's hope you guys enjoy.        Here are some progress pics.       Since it's bumped, might as well see all the original pics.
