the 2nd gun i ever owned once i was old enough was a sub2k from my grandfather. i went in to pick up a 638 i bought from a member here and they had one on the wall. gen2 though apparently with the upgraded sights and threaded barrel. had to have it for under $500. got to pick it up today. (thanks WA gun laws....)

i've always had a soft spot for keltecs having owned everything from a PU-22, pmr30, SU16, and RFB. currently have a KSG and this one. filled the perfect hole in my collection using Glock17 mags which i EDC as it is. <3

(i only put tape on the mags for funsies, i don't plan on keeping it that way....)

They're kinda fun, aren't they?

I had a Gen 1, and sold it to buy a Gen 2. Cool gun, though I don't actually shoot it very often . . . .

If you want fun and Kel Tec.

PLR 16.
Pistol, AR mags .233/5.56 and a AK gas system.
Light as can be, throws flames and loud as anything at the range. Not really.
It’s the loudest.
You could be having the worst day of your life and shoot it.
Be smiling like a fool after the 4th shot.

Owned one of those also! Was fun but didn't use it much. I think the only keltecs I haven't owned are the tiny semi auto poscket pistols.

Agree! It's been many years since I've owned one but I'm looking forward to getting out for some trigger time. They definitely made much needed improvements.

I still have the Gen 1 Steve got rid of.

Added the Red Lion Precision rotating Quad Rail and Front Sight.

Tossed a 45° mount for the TRS-25 and have been happy for years.

Would love to eventually get a Gen 2, but only after getting a 9mm can.

Have had mine for a while now. I definitely like KetTec and their products. They are so fun to shoot. Added the angle grip, new rear sight (hate peepholes), and a new charging handle.

The practicality of semi-auto full-length PCCs is very questionable, IMHO:

The weight of loaded 30-rd OEM Glock 9x19 magazine is 18.2 oz.
The weight of loaded 30-rd Magpul 5.56 magazine is 17.5 oz.

My unloaded Sub2000 gen.2 is 4.32 lbs.
My unloaded Saint Edge 10.3” with Maxim brace is 5.87 lbs - only 1.55 lbs more.

The cost and availability of 9x19 and 5.56 ammo are about the same.

So, why to sacrifice the greater performance of 5.56 carbine to 9x19 carbine?

I like how my gen.2 Sub2000 is packable, though.
However, I hate the bruises on my shoulder from its harsh recoil.
Also, reports on cracked receivers make me concerned.

:facepalm2:
Make it in 7.62x25 and also make Glock-alike pistol in the same caliber!
Winchester, Sellier & Bellot, Wolf, Fiocchi, Prvi Partizan, Red Army Standard are still making non-corrosive Tokarev ammo.
Moreover, it's reloadable, and .223/5.56 cases can be easily converted.
Not to mention tons of milsurp.
Should it be a modern "Glokarev" 20-rd optics-ready semi-auto handgun/PCC combo on the market, then more ammo manufacturers would jump in.
Like what happened to silly $1.00/rd 5.7x28 - glorified bastard child of .17HMR and .22WMR, - and people are still crazy buying it, lol!

I guess we know what we’ll be talking to Keltec about at SHOT this year

Andrey, check out the GAU-5 ASDW - a packable 12.5" AR that breaks in half at the front of the receiver. Midwest made a VERY limited run of pistols and uppers with leftover rails when the Air Force contract was done, but now you'd have to do what I did and cut the anti-rotate tabs off their G3ML10.5 handguard to accommodate the QRB takedown system.

It fits in a laptop case... :)
