Here's a couple more. From top to bottom: 1) a Springfield 1903. This was my father's and he acquired it some time while he was in the Navy. It's unfortunate that it was drilled and tapped for a peep sight, but at least I saved it from my brother who wanted to sporterize it. 2) a run-of-the-mill Yugo m/48 shoulder-buster. Not shown is a Mosin m/44 carbine. I recently finished gently baking all the cosmoline out the stock and have yet to reassemble it. When I got it, the saturated stock weighed 3.5 lbs; it now weighs 2.25 lbs. It will receive a proper military finish.

It won't keep me from posting the rest of my run-of-the-mill rifles, though. I'm a budget collector. Are you shocked by the difference in weight before and after extracting the cosmoline from the stock or that I had the audacity to mess with a $75 milsurp rifle? If the former, so was I... actually, I was amazed; if the latter, I am simply restoring a rifle to its original military configuration... minus the cosmoline.

MadPick wrote: Now I need to keep this thread down-to-earth, so here's my Big 5 Mosin Nagant M91/30. This is a 1942 rifle from the Izhevsk arsenal, and overall it's in pretty decent shape That's a nice tiger-stripped stock. I like it.
