Can anyone attest to the quality of these shows vs WAC?

A lot smaller than WAC, usually somewhat better priced, $6 to get in, no membership required, some FFL's are present, some private guys, usually a good mix. Worth the visit.

Thanks for posting, didn't realize it was this weekend till just now.

Not having to be a member to buy or even handle guns is the best part.

Post Re: Centralia this weekend
Aaaaaandd... I'm back. I will have to say it was a great show. There were some decent prices on a lot of items. Ruger 10/22's were actually priced at $200ish! There was a good WGO presence there as well. Myself, Olydemon, Mohawk13, Old Jim, Badclam and drkside45 were all roaming the aisles.

This show, I think I did well! I ended up finding the shotty that I have been wanting for years, a Remington 870, already outfitted with side saddle and mag tube extension. Very minimal use and ironically got it off of drkside45's son! I got it for a fair price, so I was happy and I hope he is too.

Also got a mini-crossbow... Touted as being a great kids toy this is anything BUT! 50lb pull and some stout bolts this thing pierces plywood like it's butter. I did let the kids have a few shots but this will not be a kids toy as originally planned.

Oh well, 2 new toys for me! Pics coming tonight of the haul!

That's a nice shotgun, Dan. Good choice!

As for the crossbow . . . well, that's interesting and novel.

You wouldn't be saying that when you watch it fly 20 yards and penetrate my kids playhouse icon_eek . I had a tip break off on one of the plastic ones yet it still fired just fine. What sold me was that it, with now a blunt tip, still penetrated one of my spare lifejackets that was sitting upright with no support. Clear through... Try that by hand with a leather jacket hanging from a coat hanger and an un-sharpened pencil and let me know how it works out for ya!

I can qualify 2 things here.

The 870 was a score and just too cool.

And the cross bow we thought was a kids toy.... well it would put more than an Eye out.

Great scores Dan. That 870 is a really fine and balanced piece. Those little crossbows looked like much fun. Great Nite time take out tool. Looking fun to more fun tomorrow..Hope to see everyone there!!!
