I noticed a sign on the tree at the first shooting area/clearing on FS road 70, just outside Greenwater, stating WaGuns.org had done a cleanup out there. Could hardly tell! Any plans for another cleanup soon? Are there regular cleanups out there? Anybody else want to clean up? I would hate to see this place get shut down. It's the closest place for me and probably a lot of others to go shoot for free. Its sad to see how much junk is just left out there. I would be happy to use my truck and utility trailer to haul garbage and recycle-ables out of there.

Welcome to WAGUNS! Yes, we do cleanups there a couple times a year. Doesn't take long before it's trashed again due to irresponsible shooters unfortunately. I would imagine we will be doing one here pretty soon, keep your eyes open here for when. Thanks for joining and being concerned, we all feel the same way.

Welcome to WaGuns! I'm glad our signs are still up and not all being used as target boards.
As mentioned, we do a couple cleanups per year. Typically it's when the snow is all melted and the weather is better. We tend to get a better turnout when the sun is shining. Keep an eye on here for updates!

Welcome, Ryan! We coordinate our cleanups with the U.S. Forest Service, and we go out there together. They bring a crew, we bring a crew, we all clean up, they go somewhere else to keep working and then we do some shooting. We traded some emails with the USFS a couple of weeks ago to get the ball rolling. I'm not sure when the first one will be, but the idea is percolating. The weather and the condition of the ground in that area (wet and muddy and soft, easy to damage with traffic and trucks) is one of the limiting factors at the moment.

I am in to help keep Greenwater clean. Closest place to shoot and would love to be able to bring my daughter when she's old enough. I don't have a truck but I pick up whatever junk I can fit in our car.

We love being able to go out there. Was just out there today and it is trashed again. Packed out two extra loads of garbage. Have a group of about 6 of us that would join in and help

Welcome, Lish! MADrtcw contacted the Forest Service a day or two ago, we're trying to get a cleanup scheduled.

I'd be willing to help out and meet some other shooters! (Hopefully on a day I don't have school that is)
Speaking of Greenwater, has anyone been to both Greenwater and Capitol Forest? Am looking to go out shooting there for the first time and just a tad bit nervous.
Which seems to be the safer location?

Which seems to be the safer location? I was just up in Greenwater on Sunday and it was great. On a rare occasion you run into unsafe folks, most the time everyone is fairly respectful. I always recommend going with someone for personal safety. That's just my personal rule of thumb
