Hello! Just tried the map feature but it is under construction. I really look forward to its launch! Can anyone point me to a good place to shoot steel in the woods around Marysville or Granite Falls. I really do not want to go indoors, pay money, single fire and regret it.
Maybe anyone lets me join in on their land. I'll pitch in, pay my fair share and clean up. Any advise to a newbie to WA state is appreciated.
Thanks Oldgrumpy

I'm about to do a reconnaissance mission up that way (Mountain Loop Highway) on Tuesday. Looking at Google Satellite Map shows a few spots that look promising. I'll put up a field report here afterwards.
Oh, and welcome to WaGuns!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'll start looking and asking around too. Please feel free to post you finds here. It would be an awful waste of space if there is no place to go shoot.

There are several outdoor ranges near you but if you are looking for a pit - open to public type of shooting spot.
You might want to check out the one near Sedro Woolley.

Most of the places we used to shoot near Marysville got overrun with the slobs from Seattle that filled them with trash, came in in the middle of the night and shot up the area (trees, signs, etc). As a result they've been closed over the years.
Closest place I know is either Sedro Woolley (pit east of there) or Darrington (Lots of logging roads with clear cuts or the pit NE of town.

Thank you Deadshot2 and oldkim. Sure does not look like an easy undertaking to find a good and safe place to practice.
Could you give me a bit more details as to the locations. Being new does not make it easy navigating my way thru the forests and roads.
I think Darrington is closest to me.
