Even if it's not closed, you'll probably die of old age before you actually get in. I've been on the waitlist since April 2, 2018, and the portal is currently showing my waitlist rank at #131.

I told them they could just skip you, since you live so far away.

Has your rank changed in the last year? I know they've added a bunch of new members, but I'm not sure if the ranks have been updated. You may be closer than you think.

It was #131 on March 22, 2021 (the last time I looked), and it's still #131, so I figure I'm still a solid 2-3 years away. And by that point, I will probably have lost all interest in it anyway...as you pointed out, the drive would suck!
