I've never been to that pit. Do you have directions to that pit?

No details yet, Pat. Just an agreement with them that we'll team up on this one. I'm waiting for more details like a date and location. Will post when we nail it down.

We took a trip up to the pit the 435th Ave morning pit this morning. There was some people set up in the lower pit and the upper pit had about twelve people set up.and shooting. So we went farther up the mountain to a nice little spot to shoot at.
A friend went with us today to get some shooting in. We shot for two & a half hours, had to be back by 12.30 to watch the grandkids.
I met a guy from Darrington at the Shell Station at Sweede Haven Road .
We are going to get together later this week to go do some shooting in. I need to reload some more 38spl, 357mag and some 9mm.
There wasn't to many shotgun hulls at this spot. Mayne a half gallon of them.

My friend Ed wants to get out Tuesday or Wednesday to get some shooting in.

It won't let me post any pictures.

We went up to the lower 435th Ave pit for a couple of hours. It was nice & peaceful there. Both of the pits are still clean for our cleanup last year.
I picked up a little over a gallon on spent shotgun hulls.
The tweekers are cleaning up every single piece of brass. You don't even see a single 22lr case.

The two pits over on the Suaittle River Road are in need of a total clean up again.
When up did the clean up there two years ago we took out a shit load of trash. I will be organizing another pit clean up for these two pits again. I'm thinking Saturday May 27th.
I have to talk to the DNR District Manager to coordinate the clean up date so they can close the pit down for the clean up.

The grandkids have spring break next week so I'll be able to get Mason out shooting then. I've been processing some 9mm, 38/357 and 45 brass. I'll get some of them loaded for Mason to shoot up this weekend.

Wow, it's not very often that you get to say that. Nice work.

You accomplish two things when you do a pit cleanup. #1, you get the pit clean, that's pretty obvious. #2, because the pit is clean, people are less likely to make a mess. If it's already a shithole, they won't mind making it worse. If it's clean, they probably won't mess it up.

Of course, this only applies to those with a conscience. There will always be a few douchebags that just don't care, which is why this is a cycle....

It didn't take them long to trash the Suaittle River Road pits.
I'll line up another dump trailer for the clean up.
Once I talk to the DNR District Manager I'll set a clean up date.

Tomorrow I need to pickup some small pistol primers so I can load up some 9mm - 38sp - 357mg and some 45acp for Mason.
He's liking the Colt 45acp 1911 and the glock 10mm.
We will problably go shooting a couple of days this week.

First timer here...what time are the pits open?

I think shooting time starts at 9am. But people start shooting earlier. I took my step daughter and two grandkist up the the lower 435th Ave pit late this morning.
It was the first time for my 5 year old granddaughter to shoot a 22.
Mason got to shoot quite a bit. I bought some Safeway brand soda for him to shoot. They really explode when shot with a 40 caliber pistol.
I also took empty soda cans and filled them up with water out of gallon milk jugs.
We stayed up there for three and a half hours.
The little one was getting bored.
We stopped at the Shell Station at Sweede Haven Road for snacks afterwards.
I picked up two small buckets of spent shotgun hulls and threw them in the trash at home

I loaded up a few 40cal and 10mm test rounds yo try out and see if they would cycle in the Glocks. We went to a small spot up in OSO. Just like everywhere else it was a mess and there is a pull of on the road that has a bunch of trash. I'll see if I can find some one to help load the trash up. The one spot has two couches there.
Mason only got to shoot for about half an hour before the rain and hail came down pretty hard. I picked up a small bucket of shotgun hulls and one 9mm case.

We got out kind of late today, I had stuff I needed to get done before I could get out.
Mason's mini bike needed some work done on it .
We picked it up from the shop and headed up to Darrington. It was after 2pm by the time we got there. Lots of activity going on up there.
We ended up in the upper pit around 2:45.
My friend Ed from Northwest Firearms met up up there .
Ed and Mason shot for a couple of hours.
After Ed packed up to go back to Anacortes we picked up 17 pounds of brass from both pits.
A local from Darrington that picks up brass I bought 33 pounds of brass off of him.
Mason got to put just over thirty miles on his mini bike.
A very enjoyable afternoon today.
I tried to download some pictures but this system will not process them..

Sounds like you had a good time out there yesterday. And also, it’s good that you finally found some brass.

There was a guy at the pit before we got there and he picked up about five gallons of brass and left.
We picked up seventeen pounds.
We were getting ready to leave and three tweekes came and picked up all of the 22lr, 22mag and 17HMR brass.
I have to send 4,000 pieces of 223 to a guy in New York.
The 9mm is really stacking up.
