Back from training in Yakima, havent shot in 3 weeks. So needed to jump back into it.

Some good, some bad. Hard to shoot orange steel with a red FO sight. I should have changed my optic.

Stage 2. Good run, missed that first steel and kinda boggled myself. Picked it up and drove one. Had a bit of trouble with the last steel also.

Stage 3 Meh, at the end primer fell out of one of my rounds and jammed in the magazine. So I missed the turning target. No penalty, but no points. :blackcloud1: Probably picked up someones 9mm hot brass and I reloaded it. Dang open guys, ruining brass!

Stage 4 Pretty good run, I was happy.

Stage 5. Really hard to shoot that plate rack, I couldnt find my front sight.

Stage 6 I was happy up to the point I clipped 2 no shoots on the perf.

Good day to shoot, enjoy and look forward to the next one.[

Open to the public, just have to get a safety check before a match. You can talk to Dave there at Paul Bunyan. If your interested just show up. Its a ton of fun.

PRP. Breaks around 3 lbs. I love my 5.25, I want to move to limited. I finally have come to the conclusion that I have to move to a 2011.

You should bring it out, the next match is in Marysville on the 20th.

Is this different than the Renton mTch next weekend? I'll be at that one for the first time.

Dont think Renton is running anymore more IPSC matches this year, they may have an IDPA match. Not sure.

The match at Renton this Saturday the 19th is an IDPA match. I'll be there and any newbies that want to come are welcome to squad with me and I can help/coach you through your first match. Anyone new to IDPA has to be at the range before 8am for the New Shooters Meeting that STARTS at 8am.

If there is a USPSA match at Renton this month it will be on Sunday the 27th. Like it was said, if the Renton USPSA match runs this month, it could be the last one.

Sorry for being a newb here. What exactly do I need to bring? I have a glock 17L and a 34 both are stock. I thought I read somewhere only the 34 is legal ?

Also does the holster need to be a level 2 or is any holster ok? How many mags do I need on my belt? Any rule against threaded bbl on the pistol? Plan on running the novice/ stock division if possible. Can't wait.

Any strong side holster should be fine, provided it covers the trigger guard. No drop leg/shoulder/crossdraw. 34 is good to go for an Idpa match and you'll want to have a minimum of 3 Mag's and mag pouches for 2 of them.

Maybe I'll dust off my hide n shoot gear and join you this weekend.

If you run a threaded barrel you will have to run the ESP division vs SSP if stock barrel. For someone new there is really no difference between ESP and SSP.

Like Tugtug said, any good strong side holster is good as long as it covers the trigger, IWB or OWB. Make sure its easy to draw and reholster with, you will draw and reholster several times during the match. Min of 3 mags and a belt pouch to hold 2 of those mags, you will be doing reloads too. Also bring a vest, jacket, long shirt or something to cover your gun and mags. You have to wear a "concealment" garment when shooting most stages. A vest or jacket is easiest to sweep out of the way when drawing your gun. Bring about 150-200 rounds of ammo will be enough. Make sure you get there before 8am, the New Shooters Meeting starts at 8am and all newbies to IDPA have to attend it.
