Shot my first state match & had a hoot this weekend. Great stages, superb staff, good squad. While I didn't win my division, I did come out on top of my classification (SSR, Marksman) , which was very gratifying.
Was well worth the drive & I would encourage all to give it a try. Lots of fun.
Kudos again to the staff- job well done!

Congrats, it sounds like you did well and had fun. Can't beat that. Was this at Renton?

Yup- at Renton. The team put on a great match, and the prizes were damn good. Though I didn't win anything, my buddy won a gun in the drawing. Sponsors were very generous.

Got any pics? Man, I really wanted to go, but other things took priority. I'll be there for sure next year. How was the Norpoint/Shot Master sponsored stage? Heard it was a "circus" stage. That's where I shoot every month, and the past few months have had some very interesting stages leading up to this past weekend. We were the guinea pigs for parts of the final stage. BTW, I have a set of those Shot Master Dry Fire targets and love them. Practice my target transitions with them.

The norpoint stage was the one I most worried about, but did surprisingly well (against my own standards). Hit all the movers, to my astonishment. The SO crew was encouraging & fair while firm. No pics due to the rules, but some should be posted on the nwppa site soon.
A few other stages were just as innovative, but had less movers & angles.
I'll be participating again next year, but probably in SSP or ESP.

From what we heard it was the most challenging stage at the match. There were very few that did good on that stage. Thanks to all that came to shoot the Match!!

I heard lots of talk about the "sneakiness" (in a good way!) of the stationary target on the other side of the disappearing moving target, lots of folks thought it was the same target! :-) One of the great things at state was seeing how other local clubs approach stage design and pose problems to the shooters. Much to be said for making shooters actually identify their targets instead of "running a program." Good times.
