Inexpensive .22LR silencers

Fri Oct 27, 2017 8:59 pm

I thought I ordered a Spikes "Buckwheat" silencer on Silencer co, but somehow it got screwed up, and now that silencer is not even on their website. I just want a cheap one for my ruger rifle/pistol.

The second this for a decent can on a budget.

I assume you mean SilencerShop.com - not SilencerCo...and you're right - I don't see the Buckwheat on there anymore which isn't a big deal. My brother got it and isn't tremendously impressed with it. I looked on SilencerShop.com and saw that this new offering from TacSol is available and fairly inexpensive:

I have the Axiom that the Ascent is based on. I am very happy with it. I recommend getting that. It's one of the cheapest 22LR cans and seems well built from a reputable company.

I respectfully disagree (see above statement about a reputable company). I have two HTA suppressors and I regret buying them...their CS is non-existent (phone calls and emails go unanswered) and the built/material quality of their products is not worth the savings over many other brands. Further - their products are not available on SilencerShop.com - which 1) sends a message about how poor their distribution network is and 2) makes ordering something from them much more difficult.

Chuck, factor in the $200 tax stamp when choosing your suppressor. A $100 suppressor isn’t half the price of a $200 suppressor; it’s 75% of the price ($300 vs. $400).

I think the percentage logic is helpful when making the choice.

Also another thing I found is(well the only dealers up here at least) is the transfer fee on top of tax and price of silencer. With the 22 Id be spending 200 to 400 on can, 200 stamp and then freaking 100 to 150 dollar transfer when ordering. Where is the best store around eastside or northend that has stuff in stock or partners with a manufacturer and doesn’t charge transfer on top of everything?

My Form1 22 suppressor works alright and cost me $50 or so +$200 tax.
Form1 is always an option. :thumbsup2:

Perhaps Hot Gates Armory. Southern Eastside. He's a "powered by silencer shop" dealer too. He might be able to get a better deal than you can get if he orders for you. Worked that way for a SBR.

I'm leaning towards the Ascent. $255, and no transfer fee.

I have a guardian 22 and a spectre 2 and both are great cans. The rebel is a steaming pile of shit.

If I was going to buy a can and pay retail currently I would get a Q selector thru silencershop.

Why go cheap on a 22 can? You have to wait 10 months and have half your cost in the stupid stamp. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $200 on a nice 22 can.
