Or, DA can just release the information where they buy their material from so people can make their own wipes.

Wouldn't you then be manufacturing suppressor parts without a tax stamp? It's just so fucking ridiculous that we even need to have these conversations. We need a clean slate of gun regulations, and start over again. It's kind of like tax law, too many years upon years of Band-Aids.

SD tactical got into trouble for selling freeze plugs without an SOT. Does this make freeze plugs a suppressor part? Yes, but only in this very specific instance. The sole reason SD was selling freeze plugs was to turn them into baffles. Had they also been a engine rebuilder and changed how they marketed parts they probably wouldn't have gotten into trouble. Hard to know the entire backstory so maybe they would have. It's stupid that all this *nudge* *nudge* *wink* *wink* stuff has to go on but that's the way it is for now. In this case it sounded like SD skipped the second *nudge* and *wink* and got into trouble for it.
DA can't sell the wipes because right now the only thing they sell that uses them is a suppressor. If they start making a different muzzle device (or, hell, anything that's not a suppressor) that uses the wipe as a part then they can start selling them again. Many companies do this very thing so users can have a 9mm end cap on their .45 suppressor. It's not clear to me exactly what the laws are in regards to the end user having extra end caps for one suppressor. I hesitate to say that since lots of people do it and companies sell the parts then it must be OK. I tend to believe that it is but I can't point to something specific to say that's the case. My 9mm can has two configurations, when it's put together in the "K" configuration I have 3 extra baffles and an extra section of outer tube. If that's OK but having extra wipes would not be wouldn't make sense to me, but like any of this makes much sense in the first place. Nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat, I always say.
