I am....I am done with NFA stuff after July 13th. Anything I want to add will be done prior to that date. My Trust will be upgraded to take care of Estate issues but beyond that I am through with it. How about you guys?

I got the Form 1's I currently want all done already.
Wont stop me from buying new NFA items in the future. Bit more of a hassle...yes. But still not that bad in the overall scheme of things

Yes, I'm feeling a sense of urgency and I have added a few more things. But ... never say never. If some whiz-bang hottest-shit-ever NFA gadget comes out in the future, it's quite possible that I won't let some fingerprints and photos stand in my way. usrifle wrote: I am....I am done with NFA stuff after July 13th. It won't affect me. It's not that hard to go get prints and a photo once a year.

Mt problem will be that all the people on my trust will not be in this State and it will become a Major hassle to comply with providing the info for everyone on my trust for submission after July 13th. So I am spewing Money right now to get what I want and hopefully nothing "whiz bang" comes along I have to have after that!

I might be the only person here WAITING for 41P to go into effect. I'm waiting until july to file for SBR and silencer for home defense so that its in MY name instead of a trust to remove some of the "risk" that comes with using trust property in the event SHTF or things go south. I might just have wrapped my tin foil a little tight, but I want that specific firearm in my name if I go to court and have to prove I didn't break any NFA possesion/use laws.

I assume you are the trustee named in your trust? What??

I am the grantor and a trustee in my trust. I haven't found much as far as case law goes or frankly anything on NFA firearms used for personal/home defense which makes me a little nervous using trust property for personal defense. Maybe i'm over thinking it but I figured it is safer having it in my name instead of a trust, especially since no one else will be using it.

an NFA item is the last thing I'm grabbing for home defense.
But back on topic - I, too, am front-loading as much as I can reasonably think of, afford, and obtain before 41F. Maybe in following years there will be something interesting to buy, but the reco's I hear are get a Bronze/Individual trust then to ease to acquisitions and leave the original trust alone.

Why when they can be the most effective tool for defense?

If I wake up to a bump in the night, I don't want to discharge a handgun inside my home without hearing protection and without giving up my "night vision". But, to each his own. I'm not a lawyer, but if you're not a Prohibited Person, and your trust is valid, and you're the Grantor and a Trustee, and the BGC was conducted on you when you obtained the NFA item(s), and you have the tax stamp to prove the $200 tax was paid, then how could you possibly break any NFA laws by using your trust's item(s) in legitimate self-defense? I'm just trying to understand your train of thought here. Are there specific statutes you're concerned about violating?
