Do successor trustees need to be fingerprinted to? I have my parents listed as successor trustees in case something happens to me... I mean if something worse happens to me.

Are they beneficiaries or trustees? Check the language in your trust documents. Trustees are typically people who are granted rights to the listed items by the Settlor of the estate (you). Sounds like your parents are beneficiaries? If they are trustees then yes, they will have to go through the same process.

They are successor trustees. If something happens to me then they become trustees, not before. They have no rights till I'm gone.

And this is one of the many reasons why 41F sucks. Silly shit like this.

I think you're really missing the point, think of all the lives will be saved because it's difficult for someone who wants to go through official and legal channels to have a short rifle that sounds like a moth fart when it's shot.

They way I understand successor trustees you would not need to have them finger printed/photographed. But that is going on my understanding that they are more like beneficiaries except when you pass they take control of the trust. While you are alive they have no control whatso ever and arent even trustees really.

But I would contact whoever made you trust and asked them and if that doesnt help call the ATF and ask

I am also operating under the understanding successor trustees and beneficiaries both don't qualify as "responsible parties" under the new ATF 41f requirements. I'm the only trustor/trustee on my NFA trust and I will be postmarking a paper Form 1 or 4 on July 14th with my fingerprints/photos and nobody else. We shall find out! Which is honestly the only real answer, you can call/e-mail the ATF and ask ten people and get ten different answers. What actually gets approved is the only true test.

CLEO is notification only, no sign-off. I'm hoping dealers will just fax a copy of the Form 4 to your local PD much like they do today with WA pistol transfer forms.

The ATF has changed their mind regarding the "2 year grace period" that was in the original language of 41f. Now you can basically expect with every single new form submission you need all the 41f requirements included.

One of my biggest questions is will the ATF be capable of reviewing all these trust documents and accurately/consistently determine who are the responsible parties listed. Furthermore how much time will that process add to the stamp approvals?? I'm not excited about either answer.

And here's more a few more reasons why 41F sucks...don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Curious why are you waiting until the 14th to file? just to test the system under 41f?

Yup just to test the new system. Everyone else is in a rush to beat July 14th, here I am waiting for it to roll around.... ;)

Actually not totally accurate, I will be filing at least 4 more stamps between now and July 13th anyways.

Got to have at least have a baker's dozen. 7 suppressors and 3 SBR's so far. Come June 9th that SBR number will more than double.

Yeah I wish I had the funds, I would be adding guns right now just to put a stamp on them.. Have to settle for submitting the scorpion on 9th. Got one F1 can approved already and submitted another 2 weeks ago.
