So I'm going to start my paper work for a trust over the next couple of days and start working on a form one can. I know SD tactical is a pretty common one for the diy kits. But I've also been looking at the diversified machine set ups(I like their endcaps a lot better than SD tactical). what are some other options for these style kits that are relatively decently priced? I plan on having some sort of quick detach, which both of those companies offer(though SD Tac doesn't have one for the YHM QD mounts).

Ideas? I have time, but I want to know what can Im going to get due to needing to know the length for my paperwork.

Thanks guys :peep:

Edit to add:

Also looking for baffle options that are something more than just some freeze plugs with holes in them.

I'm interested to see where this thread goes. I've only done one homemade suppressor, and it was with parts from SD Tactical. I've looked at the Diversified Machine stuff a little, but it seems to get really expensive really quickly.

I'm not so much worried about price(shit if I do the diversified machine... I gotta get the damned thing powder coated or something so it's not this giant shiny thing on the end of a camo rifle

Or....

Just buy a suppressor cover long enough to hide all that shiny surface.

i picked up one of the short rifle kits for a 45 acp build. the tubes, endcap and mount are all anodized and look fan-fucking-tastic. worth the price IMO.

or maybe machine your own/have someone machine 60° cones/spacers

Were you wanting build it in 2016 or 2017? DM is painfully slow. I ordered some end caps for 2 future can in Jan., think they'll be here in June, maybe.

My previous form1 projects were from SDT, Apogee, Napa Auto parts.

I bought a freeze plug forming tool on ebay, makes a 45 degree come and a center mark in one shot. Drilled a pilot hole and used a 60 degree live center from a lathe to press the cone deeper and up up the hole to .30cal.

Freeze plugs work, they work better as cones. I dont see the need to buy machined plugs , especially in aluminum.

That's what I was worried about. What's the turn around time for sdt? The main reason I would consider diversified machine is the fact that I just like their end cap Style a lot better

Order both , decide when the DMs actually arrive. I only went with DM because they make end caps thatll work on the Damage Inc. QD muzzlebrakes.

If I could fine another 1" -20TPI /Maglite compatible end cap Id buy from them.

Id realky like to build an oversized 5" long Wix 4003 type can in stainless after looking at the Brevis P design
