This was a post from another site... regarding Who to get a Trust...

So for those interested in getting a suppressor soon and going the Trust route... Here you go:

He is recommended by Rainier Arms and West Coast Armory... he comes highly recommended.

Here's his info.
http://www.brislawnlofton.com/

He has publications out there so he know's his stuff...
http://www.brislawnlofton.com/publications.html

Quote:
SO WHAT IS A GUNDOCX TRUST AND WHY DID I CREATE IT?How do you allow others to use your firearm without breaking the law? What if your spouse goes to sell, give away, or loan your firearm when you are travelling, or you are disabled, or you pass on? Can I own a machine gun in another state, legally, when I live in this state which doesn't permit me to own it?

I created GunDocx to deal with all of these issues, and more. Attorney Foss Hooper joined my team of one, and we invented a complete trust system to help you acquire, possess, and transfer your precious firearms collection during your life and thereafter, REDUCING AND HOPEFULLY ELIMINATING THE CHANCE OF SOMEONE COMMITTING THE ACCIDENTAL FELONY.

GunDocx is one of a growing family of special purpose trusts available from Brislawn Lofton, PLLC. Special Needs, IRA Preservation, Asset Protection, Minor Child Auto and Charitable Income Trusts are only a few of them. Give me a call or send an email if you have an issue that cries out for creativity… we just may have something that will delight you.

Nice, saw his ad in today's WAC Gun News! Maybe we should invite him over to WaGuns for a little show-n-tell?

Maybe give him his own vendor area for selling his service and Q&A.

Just a plug for Dennis as I am using him for a trust myself.

He gives a 1 hour class at Bellevue Gun Club (West Coast Armory) - First Monday of the month from 6pm - 7pm. There is a cost of $400. Next one is Nov 7, 2011 - this coming Monday. The one he does at the Bellevue Gun Club is the Silver package. Normally $500 but the class on Monday is only $400. So you do get a Silver GunDocx trust out of the class and save $100 in the process. I would go to his site and use the Contact US link to email him for more specific information and just read his site. Has some great information.

His group is called: Northwest Gun Law Group - Site is : http://nwgunlawgroup.com

Just wanted to add some updated info for you.

Dennis's class is great - I took it back in June and walked out with a binder that housed a full trust and a lot of information on what good it did me. Not only are the trusts done by a legitimate estate lawyer but there are a lot of details and little things that can be done to take the trust from "making it legal to own suppressors" to actually being something useful. I use it to line up all my guns and firearms and accessories and have it set up as a "will for my guns".

I'd recommend the class to anyone.

Thanks for the referral!

"NFA Trust" stuff ABOUNDS on the internet, but I really like what I'm seeing with this guy.

He also has the $97 "Bronze" package-

http://nwgunlawgroup.com/gun-trusts/bronze-gun-trust/

Quote:
Bronze Edition Gun Trust (NOW ONLY $97 online!)

Our Bronze Edition Gun Trust is now only $97* when you place your order online!

Designed by our attorneys, it is intended for the client who has a singular focus – to obtain an NFA firearm with minimum hassle or worry. It’s budget-friendly and provides a firearms-specific solution.

Bronze is a clearly written, purpose-built and streamlined trust. To keep cost to a minimum, it is provided without detailed consultation and is available for purchase and download this trust directly from our website. The trust is expressly written with a minimal feature set and without opportunity for customization – instead it looks to your other estate planning documents or to state law if you have none to appoint your successor Trustee and for distribution details.

While Bronze is not a full-featured estate plan like our Silver Edition Gun Trust, for the price it is far superior to any conventional trust since it protects your use of NFA firearms. NFA firearms are easy to mishandle when you attempt to share them with others. Bronze is a far superior option for NFA firearms than a conventional living trust, whether generic or attorney-prepared, in our experience since it was designed for the purpose and is firearms-specific.

Best of all, when the time comes to upgrade to a Silver Edition Gun Trust, we will credit the fee paid for your Bronze Edition Trust in full towards the upgrade. Contact 1-855-GUN-DOCX for upgrade information.

whats the price difference between the two? the cheapest available trust
http://www.brislawnlofton.com/ vs http://nwgunlawgroup.com/gun-trusts/bronze-gun-trust/

brislawn doesnt seem to have a dedicated link for guntrust compared to nwlawgroup

Also DO I NEED to have benificiary for gun trust? I don't really have any family member that's into firearms.... If beneficiary is needed, can i put a name down without letting that person know?

Please know that Mr Brislawn is a main partner in NW Gun Trust. So, you are talking about the "same deal" just that your getting it directly from Dennis Brislawn versus another partner... say Keith Wells. But they are both a part of NW Gun Law Group.

Yes to all the above and No you do not have to tell them. A trust has a pretty good chunk of it as a "will" - who gets what and how, etc Depending on who writes it and what version you get (short and sweet, medium or the Full auto multi state and estate version).
