Firearms and self defense for women?

My daughter is interested in getting a CPL and a pistol. I know the basics but am not the person to teach her. Not looking for where to go but what classes would be best?

Thank you everybody. I will have her do some research. I’ve already given her a copy of the basic gun laws and basic safety. She is actually more pro active about it than either of my boys are.
