I'm really digging the capacity and +P rated barrel. And Sig out of the gate are going to offer holsters and down the line light packages to suit...

I think I will be very tempted to jump on this over my shield. My shield has been amazingly good, especially with a magguts mag getting me to 9+1 in a concealable size... but this seems to be a step up.. especially if that trigger is better.

It's a bit smaller than the P224 but how is it 12oz smaller? Did they thin the frame or the slide, or what? A weight reduction of more than 30% is significant, since the P224 is aluminum alloy and this one is (according to the linked article) stainless steel. I'm curious to see it in person.

ETA: Let's hope they put the redesigned trigger in this one, so it doesn't get caught up in the P320 "voluntary upgrade" mess.

Looks pretty nice. I'd need to see how it fits the hand and "points" before I took the plunge.

the P224 is a metal firearm, this is plastic.

everything will be expensive

Sig says it's a stainless frame. That's why I'm wondering where the weight savings were found.

From Sig's website (here: https://www.sigsauer.com/store/p365-nitron-micro-compact.html):

Quote:
FRAME FINISH Nitron
FRAME MATERIAL Stainless Steel
SLIDE FINISH Nitron
SLIDE MATERIAL Stainless Steel

But the photos certainly do look more polymer than steel. Maybe what they're calling the "frame" isn't the same as their older guns. Or something.

I suspect the "frame" is actually an internal chassis made of SS much like a 2011 or the larger recent polymer Sigs.

Serialized steel frame in polymer thingy-that-looks-like-a-gun.

"Another distinction is the pistol’s use of a removable steel chassis frame held into a polymer grip. Like the SIG P250 and P320, this frame is the serialized component to which the trigger/sear mechanism is attached. The design has several advantages over integral grip frames that have molded-in serial numbers making them a legally regulated part."

Hmm, so does that mean it might be modular enough to support different grip sizes and other stuff later, like the P320 is supposed to?
