I started doing an inventory of all my stuff this weekend, but don't like how my Excel sheet cam out looking. Does anyone use Excel to track their stuff or if not what type of sheet do you use?

I take pictures of every new item and serial number going into the safe and email it to myself so I have a record for when it falls off the boat and gets lost..

I use google sheets through my gmail account

Columns are maker, model, serial, caliber, acquisition date, acquisition price, current market value

I cut the serial number off each box & staple it to the receipt. Those are stored in a secure physical location. I have a file of pictures as well.

I almost exclusively buy guns through online vendors, so I have email records too.

I write all of mine down on sticky notes and hide them in an old mayonnaise jar. I don't need gov hackers finding my list...

I sold all but a couple, which makes it much easier to memorize the serial of each one. I decided it was time to thin the heard when I was thinking of buying a third safe. At that point I realized I had too many. And, for what it's worth, I've always had a hard copy of everything in a note book, which is kept in my safe deposit box. It's a pain to get to at times, since it's at my bank, but it'll never crash, be lost in a home fire, or scribbled all over by a artistic toddler..

Excel spreadsheet my wife made. Have a column of note about where it came from and where it should go Incase of my death since cousins may want a few.

I’m terrible. I had/have a Piece of paper that I wrote on my serial numbers down but I have not updated it in over a year and I’m pretty sure it’s in my dresser drawer or somewhere random.

Operation fix that now. I really like the idea of value on it in case of death. If my wife sold some of these for penny’s on dollars, I would roll in my grave twice.
