As a firearm owner who doesn't own a "bump fire stock" I think these devices are a bit of a gimmick, a toy if you will. They are not very reliable and have not generally been used in many crimes. If they were used in the horrendous shooting in Las Vegas, then that would be quite an outlier (a fluke, and he could have killed as many with a stolen full auto or his same guns in semi auto) Simply outlawing "bump fire stock" is not going to make criminals or the insane stop using guns of any type, because they are outliers, so to speak ,and don't follow the law anyway.
