Anyone have a list of which parts are restricted?
I know the auto sear, and the burst fire bits.
IIRC though, hammer and trigger aren't controlled, neither is bolt carrier (obviously).
3 hole lowers are the actual machine gun afaik

Drop in auto sear is a restricted part. Has to be registered and all that.
There is a place selling hammers and triggers super cheap in bulk, and they're f.a. parts. Disconnecter and hammer are different than semi auto parts.
Can't find anything that says for sure they're legal author nfa crap.

My first AR was a demilled M16. Bunch of clapped out parts in a crappy DPMS cast lower.

The hammer had the rear hook ground off. Same with the back of the disconnector. Bottom of the bolt carrier was ground back. They used an M16 hammer spring though. When I went to sell it the buyer freaked so I replaced it. Can't remember what the trigger looked like.

I'm assuming buying the hammers and grinding off the hook would make them ok to use. Not sure if simply possessing the hammers could be construed as intent to build a machine gun though. Gut feeling says no.

Many parts will work in an AR, therefor not exclusive to a machine gun.

"any part designed and intended solely and exclusively "

FA hammer and selectors fall under the law since they are designed and intended to be used in a FA M16

I would disagree about the hammer.

They were designed solely for the full auto machine guns BUT they will also work in an AR without making it a machine gun, therefor not exclusive.

For it to be 'exclusively made' for machine guns it would not be able to work in a semi auto.

All FA M16 parts will work in a Semi auto capacity. Hammer, trigger, selector, disconnecter and carrier.
This subject has been tested in a WA court quite a few years back with early SGW (Olympic Arms) AR's.
While they will function fine in a Semi Auto fashion, it's as simple as removing the grip and detent/spring from the Weapon and reinstalling the selector on the other side of the pin on the lower that prevented it from being rotated to that position.
The Feds and State did this with an SGW AR and the result was it would slam fire in a Full Auto fashion. (Unreliably, lacking a FA sear) and the individual in question went to Prison for possession of a MG.
Those particular SGW made weapons are specifically mentioned in the Regs as being required to have the FA parts removed and replaced with SA only parts.
I personally would not test the State by having FA parts in an AR or any other Weapon with that precedent already being established.

That's a different issue, parts assembled into a rifle.

Going back to my first post: if the hook is ground off it would be ok to use on both the state and the federal level.

Possession of hammers should be ok given that the M16 hammer is not designed to be exclusively used in a machine gun.

Try to order one and have it sent to WA.

Why would you even try? Semantics..
