Found a great video by Suarez International in relation to this topic. Great information for those of us who endeavor to acclimate to using a red dot on a pistol. It was interesting enough that I (with the attention span of a three year old) watched the entire 9 minute video.

I like these guys. I've purchased merchandise from them and I get e-mail with links to very interesting and informative articles and what not that they've done.

In this video they discuss many aspects of using a red dot on a pistol but they also advocate for using a lower 1/3 cowitness. I'm guilty of having a full co-witness on my Glock19 MOS right now. Maybe I need to adjust that.

Min. 5:55 Full Co-witness
vs.
Min. 6:53 Lower 1/3 Co-witness

Yes, these guys have a lot of good information about serious use of pistols and other weapons. Some of it is sales oriented but a lot of it is about mindset or setting up your gear in ways proven to work best (like the video above).

SI has a couple instructors local to the Seattle area as well, both are top notch guys and worth talking to if you're serious about learning.
