Was in DJ's in Bothell today and boy do they have a lot of guns. More than I've ever seen there in the past five years. And I understand they are being a bit more selective in what they are buying.
Wonder if people are noticing any plus or minus inventory levels at other stores?
And with larger inventories is anyone noticing prices coming down? WA Arms list is still filled with some unreal askings (especially by the larger stores with scores of guns listed) and individuals who think they have the gun of the century they're trying to sell.
On Gunbroken, Shields are way down in price esp. now that the 2.0 is available. And .40 cal pieces seem to be priced a bit lower than 9mm.
I'm not really in the market for anything in particular....nor am I looking to sell anything...just wondering.....

I imagine they are sitting on it until the next scare. Kinda like silver and gold.

As a small LGS, I can only speak to my inventory and prices. During the Hillary scare of 2016, I bought a small number of AR-15's. I sold them at various margins and have only one in stock. I also invested in other brands and models, which are moving slowly. I paid way too much for a Springfield and refuse to take a beating on it, just so I can mark it SOLD. It is priced with a thin margin as is, and I won't give it away. I guess a retailer has to decide if the normal margins of 10-15% are worth hanging on to.
I have done better in the used gun market of late, and I am snatching up collectors items and desired guns which the market is hungry for. Most folks beyond the age of 40 prefer a solid used gun built with quality over some of the plastic junk emerging from Smith, Ruger, and Remington.
One thing that hurts ALL of us is the lack of distributors nearby. Shipping costs add significantly to the prices of everything, especially ammo. My nearest distributor is in Nevada, then it's Louisiana and Iowa. Another unseen consequence of voting liberals into office- they only encourage the participation of businesses which fit their agenda. What kind of tax break do you think the Governor (or Legislature) would offer to entice Kel- Tec to relocate here? How about a Remington plant?

Having a hard time tracking that. I am assuming you are speaking of handguns? As the Ruger American bolt actions are easily our biggest sellers these days. Fantastic gun, at an even better price.

Gunarama, Bigrock, and Acusport have Montana or closer distribution though.

My statement holds water, regardless of what you are selling. Sales of cheap firearms does not upgrade the quality of such firearms.
Have you seen some of the bedding gaps in the barrel channels of these Ruger American rifles you boast of? Have you held a Remington 710 or 783 in your hands?
While your favorite distributors (Gunarama, Bigrock, and Acusport) may have Montana or closer distribution, I did not see Crow, Lipsey's, Green Supply, MGE, Davidsons, PSA, RSR, Brownells, or AIM Surplus in your list. I must not be tracking the big suppliers.
Anyhow, you know what they say about opinions, right?

You stated that your closest was NV. I just stated there ARE PNW options with good prices.
As for the bedding gaps... Its a $350 rifle... That shoots (3 shot) MOA or better out of the box in the right caliber. And if it doesn't you call Ruger and they fix it?
At no point was I calling them Trophy Grade/Collectors grade guns, but they are HARDLY "Junk". Remington hasnt made a good gun in over 20 years, no questions there.

50 years from now you'll never hear conversations about how nice that plastic stock is, or how well the picatinny rail held up. Wood is where its at for admiring history.
