It only goes off when dropped at a 23 degree angle during a total eclipse. Just lock it up for a couple of hours on the 21st.

Reports are that this is genuinely an upgrade, that the trigger pull actually feels cleaner. Make sense to me because it looks like they've modified how the striker block interacts with the trigger bar.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out but I'm always cautious to send things back for a recall, you never know what you're going to get back. Good tip though. Have you guys seen the video where a guy tests a battery of other striker fired guns with the "hammer to the back of the gun" test? Nothing else goes off. https://youtu.be/A6N15rzP-AA

I got my FedEx shipping label and the "go ahead, send it in" email from Sig today. It'll probably take a few days, but I'll get it out.

Please let is know how it goes, the original claimed wait time of up to a few months made me lose interest, but I if Sig is turning these around in a week it might be worth sending in?

Just got it back today! So from me dropping it off at fedex to back in my hands, 8 days. Impressive.

They didn't replace the gun, and it's definitelly still my barrel. So they did the work.

1. Feel
It's definitely a trigger replacement. It's not just a different shoe or springs.
* Take up is much shorter, progressive and smoother (I can still feel the striker block disengage point but it's must more subtle). Prior the take up was linear, but much more notchy as you disengage the striker block
* The break is about the same, perhaps over travel is reduce slightly, but not by much. So it remains good, but it's not a 1911 or anything like that.
* There is no more faux double action click when pulling the trigger without the striker being cocked.

Observed changes
* Trigger shoe is lighter, is nowhere near as curved as the original. I would not have bought the apex flat trigger if this was what it originally shipped with. Big improvement.
* Take down lever and disassembly safety appears to be different. It's much easier to take the pin in and out.
* The FCS seems to have a new safety mechanism that interfaces with the slide. It pops up in into the space of the slide, so it is only fully up when the slide is in battery.
* The slide has a knotch machined in to allow for the new safety mechanism on the FCS
* Striker assembly seems to be completely replaced... or re-machined, it's kind of skeletonized.

Overall, I think this genuinely is an upgrade and not just a PR name for a recall. The trigger is better and I won't be putting the apex shoe back in at this stage.

Also found a brass casing in the box for ammo I don't use, they must have test fired this.

Damn...8 days. That’s the fastest turnaround I have seen. Glad to see it’s actual work to the gun and a good outcome.

PinSniper, thank you for the comprehensive review! That's good news all around.

:thumbsup2:

For some reason this really irritated me.

All right, here's my timetable:

Oct 30: Pistol shipped by me
Nov 1: Delivered to Sig
Nov 9: Pistol shipped from Sig
Nov 13: Expected delivery to me

So from arrival at Sig to return shipment was eight days. Impressive.

And the pistol arrived today, as promised, so that was a total of 14 days from when I dropped it at FedEx to when it was back in my hands.

The trigger feels pretty good, no complaints. It breaks at about 6.5 pounds, has a little pre-travel and a little creep but not bad at all for a striker-fired gun. I'm happy with it.

Here's a Sig video explaining the changes they made:

I don't like the fact that they had a recall, of course, but I'm very happy with the way that Sig has handled it. :thumbsup2:
