Dallas police had suspended the use of their issue sig p320 amid claims that the pistol is not drop safe. "The department was notified that Sig Sauer identified a defect in the P320 handgun that could cause the weapon system to go off when dropped. Please check with Sig Sauer for more information about the defect." http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017 ... -repaired/

Shouldn't they test the guns before adopting them? Or did the Chief's brother in law give 'em a deal?
If it's like most recalls it's a 1 in a million chance, much greater odds of a cop shooting someone by just fucking up.

Sounds like crossed wires so far. PD says Sig told them it's not drop safe. Sig upon follow up said they have no idea what they are talking about.
Smells like someone called the support line, got a stupid answer and here we are?

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017 ... -repaired/inside: Sig Sauer has identified that there is a defect in the P320 handgun that could cause the weapon system to go off when dropped. The Sig Sauer P320 was approved for primary duty, secondary primary duty, and back-up use. The Firearms Training Center is currently working with Sig Sauer to obtain a solution for the safety issue. Until Sig Sauer is able to find a solution to the safety issue, the Sig Sauer P320 is no longer approved by the ****** Police Department for any use.

It's a piece of crap and the Government was stupid enough to buy into it for the Army's new sidearm-pistol for the next 25 years. Modular my big butt, like that was the big selling point. Oh the price...right. Same Department of Defense that just spent how much on a new Aircraft Carrier and nuclear Submarine.

Sig should just partner with Zev to make their P320 trigger groups. Then I might buy one.
