I picked up a few rounds at a garage sale over the weekend because they were stamped 1938, but I have no idea what they are for. Head stamps are K 1938 W.I. and VPT 38. The W.I. ones have an indentation where the casing was crimped to the bullet. The other ones do not. Any ideas? The internets were no help. I'm thinking Italian or French since they made it through the war without being used.

Those are .303 British. The VPT is made in Finland. I'm still working on the other one . . . .

Looks like the other one is made by Kynoch in Great Britain. Look a little less than halfway down the page, there's a 1939 version: http://www.8472.co.uk/ordnancebullet_303.htm

Looks like 303 British. VPT 38 appears to be Finnish made 303 ammo. The other is British made.
