So, the Mossberg Shockwave and Remington Tac 14 seem to be the next cool thing.

I understand the novelty of having a 'legal' AOW and would probably enjoy an afternoon in the woods blasting fantasy zombies, vampires, etc. After that, what next?

I havent shot one, but expect that the experience with any serious shells would not be pain free..

Once the novelty fades, what would be the advantage vs my boring standard stock 18" Rem 870 express for home defense, etc?

Yeah, I am right there with you. I just don't see the point personally.
I would stick with your 18" Rem 870, at least you can shoulder it and hit something with it.

You answered your own question! :ROFLMAO:

For me, it's just a fun range toy, much like most of my guns. It doesn't need to fill a practical niche for me.

Let me see now. Put a red dot on it, hold it up in front of your face with your elbow bent on your strong arm so you can have it close enough for the sight.
Then pull the trigger on a 12 gauge slug?
Yeah, I want to watch that.
Or you can just go to YouTube and see the results now and not wait.
Each to their own of course, just not for me thank you.

My ex was a snake and had tits. They weren't completely useless.

I tend to think of them as a younger generation's toy. No true use other than they look cool and they're probably fun the first time you take it to the range. After that, meh.

The whole point of the 4 moa red dot is to get it away from your face.
Here they shoot it repeatedly just like the way you say not to at 20:55 :
:alcapone:

Liquor store robberies when you are a contentious criminal and don't want to break too many laws?

They don't have red dots mounted, and the size of dot doesn't have any bearing when you align it with your face at a distance that it's usable.
You go for it though and i didn't say not to do that, I just want to watch when you do.
