I have a special project with one of my upper/lower combos and I'm wanting to get it to 17" on the dot, oal. Is this possible?
I've got a line on a buffer tube that's 2.2", but that's not where my problem is. I've been looking for a forward mitigation muzzle device that's under 1" to make the length. Any ideas?
2.2" buffer side, 7" reciever, 7.5" barrel
I don't know if I can get any shorter on the barrel without sacrificing reliability
Thanks for any help!

Edit: pistol only, not for stamp, just to be clear

1" brake? The shortest I know of is the ALG SCB which is just over 1.5".

Ideally, what I'd want is a kx3, but cut in half lol

Rainier Arms RMC is the smallest I've seen that's still useful. Says 1.437" long, but that includes the threads. Have one on PLR16, love it.

How about a chopped down KAK flashcan? Similar external appearance, no issues with cutting it to length unlike a bulgarian krink brake knockoff (the kx3)

Why use one?
Try shooting it without any muzzle device. You might be surprised.

That's not a bad idea, thanks. It's cheap enough that I can take the risk.

Keep in mind the threads are ~.600"-.620" long, so that one above would get you under 1" added to the barrel.
