I am still forming my opinion about this gun.
I have the carry version with the Sig night sights.
I bought this gun on a whim. Took it to the range without cleaning it like I do all of my new guns. I only had 180gr FMJ S&B and various hollow points.
It would jam the 180gr FMJ while feeding. Whether it was from a full mag or half full mag, from initial slide release to while shooting just that S&B ammo. Cleaning hasn't changed this, tho it doesn't happen as much since I don't use that ammo in that gun anymore.
Everything else runs 100%. Including factory 165gr FMJ and my own reloads.
The rear sight is very flat and reflects the light from the range quite a bit. A serrated rear sight would solve that and now I know why manufacturers install them.
Besides that my first impression is very positive. It pointed very naturally for me and I was shooting it better than my XD40.
I am put off a bit by the lack of a safety. I have not carried it yet since I'm holding off on that until I get alot more range time with it since I had the issue with the 180gr FMJ.
Sounds like a few of you guys own this gun, what are your thoughts on it?

While I have no experience with this model I have been carrying 1 of my many Sig's without a safety or incident for well over 20 years now. No fear.

.40? We've put about 1,500 rounds through our P320 9mm and it's had zero failures of any kind whatsoever.

Sounds like you have a few guns but tell me more.
I know you have a XD40
I also know when folks have issues with modern firearms - the firearm is almost always the first thing that is looked to as the problem.
Certainly a combination of firearm and ammo may be something but I often find that the first thing to look at is the shooter and how and what kind of experience one has on a platform.
Please do not be offended. I know plenty of pistols shooters that are very experienced pistol shooters but have no clue on rifles and vice versa.
Has anyone else shot the gun besides you and had the issue and what was their background? More or less the same as you?
Have you tried different Ammo?

Oldkim, you missed this line:
"Everything else runs 100%. Including factory 165gr FMJ and my own reloads."
I never checked the OAL of the S&B 180gr. The may be too long for the gun's taste.
The jamming has happened multiple ways, from releasing the slide from the lock, pulling back on the slide, riding the slide forward and while shooting.
Those same rounds give me no problem in my XD or my G29 with .40 barrel.
The rounds get stuck at a 45 degree angle every time. I am chalking it up to ammo and firearm not being compatible.
I shoot stout loads in my G29 and love 357 even in my SP101. Recoil isn't an issue and limp wristing isn't, especially since it happens when chambering the first round.
Do you have a P320?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say "stop trying to shoot 180gr."
If your pistol doesn't like it, then so be it. It runs flawlessly on 165gr? Ok, then shoot 165gr.
