Is the Mossberg shockwave legal in Washington? I'm interested in buying one and was wondering if it is legal, and what price it would be on average. In the Olympia area.

I saw one of these at Brad's. We had a nice conversation over the what if's? i.e. Yes it's legal but what if the wrong cop doesn't believe you?

It's quite clear that it doesn't fit the definition of a shotgun (or by extension a short barreled shotgun), and there are no other rules against it.

Someone may come along to correct me, but I don't think it's a legal CCW, so you're going to have to open carry. If you OC a Shockwave, well...you obviously love attention so whatever comes to you is your fault. Carry a manufacturer's letter.
I really like the gun but other than as a gnarly bear defense gun tucked into a scabbard and around your pack, I struggle to see a real-world use for it. But it would be a ton of fun shooting stuff out in the woods.
