Those things are horrible to use. Last can I opened I used a small hammer and 2" chisel. Worked like a charm

I think the openers work ok... No doubt that they are a pain.
I've used the hammer/chisel method too and prefer the openers. You kind of get in a rhythm and they roll right along. I'll bring one when I come up if you're still looking sir. |

It's all in being patient. If you go slow and make sure each cut is right... it's easy.
But it's easier to get someone else and just watch like I typically do. I "give" the honor of opening a piece of history to someone at the range. |
