Where is the best = cheapest place to pick up a spam can opener?
To be honest, I've never checked the gun shows so that's a possibilty (next weekend). Any other places recommended?
Got one.

Those things are horrible to use. Last can I opened I used a small hammer and 2" chisel. Worked like a charm

I think the openers work ok... No doubt that they are a pain. I've used the hammer/chisel method too and prefer the openers. You kind of get in a rhythm and they roll right along. I'll bring one when I come up if you're still looking sir.

It's all in being patient. If you go slow and make sure each cut is right... it's easy.
But it's easier to get someone else and just watch like I typically do. I "give" the honor of opening a piece of history to someone at the range.

Here you go, no opener required. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E6hrHpUJmEgAn angle grinder along that seam is much easier though.
