Considering the love Swiss firearms receive here on Waguns, and since no one seems to have mentioned it... I suggest a Swiss themed range day.
Still a half baked idea, but here's what my fevered imagination has in mind:
Range day! Bring your fine swiss firearms to the designated range, share and shoot the paper together and discuss all things Swiss. Cosplayers get a bonus point.
Where and when is still open to discussion, but as an office goer I'd prefer it a bit warmer (at least several weeks away for the Sun to rotate a bit higher into the sky) as well as time for people to schedule it in.
What say y'all ?

Oldkim put on a C&R shoot a few years ago. It was great. It would help if you had a range, membership and knew in advanced when you wanted it to happen. You could even get people to sign up via http://doodle.com/

Sounds like fun, I would love to shoot my K11 more and may drag along my Dutch Humbrug. That's close enough right?

I think I've got a Swiss rifle at the back of the safe somewhere. This sounds like fun.

In the late 70's Central Loans in Seattle used to have a rack full of Schmidt–Rubin's in near mint condition with bayonets. For a whopping $79.99

Sound like fun. Don't think I can fit into my Ord 49 uniform anymore but it might be worth a try.

MadPick wrote: What the hell IS that ... ? Its a Sig PE 57. It is the semi auto version of the STGW 57 which was used by the Swiss military from 1957 (when it replaced the K31) till 1990 when the STGW 90 ( Sig 550) replaced it for general service. Don't know the exact numbers but, I believe only a few hundred made it in before the ATF halted there further import. It fires the GP 11(7.5 Swiss) cartridge. The white tab you see was used as a signal on Swiss ranges to the range masters that it had indeed been converted to semi for the retirees use. On a related note. With the changing of the political guard in DC, I hope we see some of these draconian import restrictions rolled back. If so we may see some really interesting stuff come in again. Lets hope !
