This is the experience from a few guys on Nwff fb page

So, this is my warning to all who didn't see my other post this morning. Jason and I decided to try out the new indoor range. The pics online look really cool and you can shoot AR's there. That's about where the cool part ends....

1. when we walked in they wanted to personally inspect all of our firearms.
2. Informed us that no loaded magazines were allowed to be brought into the building (they said people like to slip tracers into them and it could burn down the building. No, that's not a joke)
3. Told us that to shoot rifles, we had to buy their ammo (sounded like ball ammo was fine, just had to be there's). I had just spent a few hundred bucks on ammo on my way there so I wasn't about to buy more.
4. The last straw was when I asked if I had to remove the mag from my EDC, he said that HOLSTERS weren't allowed in the building either and I would have to remove mine and leave it in my vehicle.

I told him that was fucking stupid and we would go somewhere else.

:ROFLMAO: They can stick their range !!

Welchers Gunshop
Hello everyone, after having our first week of being open in the books and with all the great feedback from our customers, we have an announcement and a clarification.
First the announcement...Military and Law Enforcement appreciation discount! All active duty and retired military and law enforcement shoot for $12.50 any time! This is not a particular day or specific mornings, ANYTIME!
Second the clarifications, to clarify, an 18years old is welcome to shoot on our range, if said 18years old is with someone over the age of 21(the legal age to purchase handguns) the 18 year old is welcome to shoot their handgun. It is against the law to sell handguns and/or handgun ammunition to anyone under 21 but it's not against the law for an 18years old to shoot someone else's handgun while the legal owner of the gun is there.
Last clarification for now is the hourly base to our rates. All Range rental rates are based on an hour, ALTHOUGH, if we are not at maximum capacity and have a waiting list going, shooters are urged to shoot for as long as they like (within reason).
We are a new range and with anything new comes some learning curves, we appreciate all our customers input and patience during these times. We hope you all get a chance to come in and shoot at the new range, hope to see you soon!!

This is from FB.
Since some people can't go there, I didn't want to link it, instead you get the full monty of cut-n-paste.

Oh yeah... hourly rates = blow it out your ass!

Update on WGS, from welcher's facebook page
*UPDATE*
Lakewood Shooting Range no longer requires only brass cased ammo.
Steel and aluminum case ammunition is ok to shoot on the range.
What that means to our customers...
**We no longer need to inspect your pistol ammo.
**You can load your magazines at home and bring them in loaded!
We were able to come to an agreement with our recycling companies to make this happen.
Thanks for all your patience regarding these issues and we hope to see you at the range!

you also shoot outdoors, have limitations, single shots and shit like that.

Here you have state of the art indoor range with automatic targets that can do tons of crap including set specific distances, turn around for quick acquisition drills and such.

Evergreen: No mag limit, tannerite allowed, fresh air, covered bays, and I can carry. $75 per year plus $5 per day. Or $10 per day.

Just got back from shooting at Welchers. The experience was as follows
1. You have to watch a 9 minute safety video
2. You have to fill out, initial, sign and date 3 different forms
3. You have to buy their targets. I brought my own, but no dice. That was bullshit.
4. No concealed carry allowed,,which was more bullshit. No shooting from holster. Likewise, bullshit.
4. Paid $16 plus $10 for my son and I to share a lane. That was the hourly rate.

By this time, I was pretty much fed up with the whole thing. However when we finally got the the lanes, the range masters were good guys. They showed us how,to,use the touchscreen controls to set range, do,drills where the target rotates,to face you, and then turns edge-on, limiting your time to engage to a preset number of seconds.

We shot pistols put to 50 ft. Max range is 75 feet. We did double taps, shooting 2 shots in a second. No one shot every three seconds crap. The range master said that since we bought one of their targets, when it got shot up,we,could staple one of ours over the top. That was good, as,we,went through 300 rounds. Finally, since there was nobody waiting the range master said we could shoot as long as we wanted for, our, one hour price. We shot until we were out of ammo.

All is all, an Excellent range. Good lighting and ventilation. All new hardware. Good sound attenuation. Great, rangemasters when we were there. On the other side, Too much paperwork and video crap up front, but they said that was a once a year thing. It isn't cheap and you have to buy at least one target from them at $1.50 or $2.50. You have to unload your conceal carry, and cannot shoot from a holster. In fact holsters were not allowed on the range. Would I go again? Maybe, but only on a weekday when there was nobody waiting. And I would bring more than 300 rounds.

Steel and aluminum ammo allowed ... awesome. That's very unusual for an indoor range.

Hourly rates, fuck that. Buy their targets, ugh.

I do understand them not allowing drawing from a holster, just for liability reasons. You and I might be just fine with that, but sooner or later some joker probably would shoot themselves in the groin and sue the range if they survived it.

The "no concealed carry" thing though is hogwash, and sounds like either a range nazi thing or management buys into the socialist nanny-state mindset of "protecting you from yourself" foolishness. As far as I'm concerned, concealed is concealed. They don't even need to know it's there.

I bought a receiver off the net. So I think what the heck I will give Welchers a shot at doing the transfer. Called them. $45.00 icon_eek . No thanks. I know some people here dont like Quantico but they will do a transfer for $15.00 and I have generally had very good luck with them.
