Saturday was testing day at West Coast. I tried many different pistols in 9mm. I shot:

M&P Shield-Easy to paw, one handed, and easy to shoot. Super slim.
Springfield XDS-think the Mod2 with the better grip might have been better.
Walther PPS M2-pretty nice.
Walther PPQ (YUCK) trigger sucked
Kahr PM9 and CM9 I believe (I fired 3 rounds from each, and took them right back to the counter. Worst. Trigger. Ever. IMO)
---> I think the MK9 would've been better, but none to try.
Glock 43-too light, sort of a "dead feel" to it.
CZ-P07 (just for funs) too big.

No Keltecs to shoot. Didn't do a Ruger LCR9 Pro but I have shot the regular. Ehhhh.

Based on personal testing, I think the Shield wins it for me. I actually found the trigger to be fine, though I would potentially swap. If I were to get a larger carry pistol, I think the Mod2 would be it. In an ideal scenario, I'd just get an HK P7 and be done with it.

I suggest waiting a few weeks and try some of your top contenders again. If you're opinion remains the same, you have a winner.

I do plan on holding off just a bit longer. I pretty much have it down to Shield or Mod 2. XDS shot ok, just didn't like the grip. Mod 2 fixes that issue, but in reality, it'll probably be a Shield with no safety from Brad's. Unless someone has a better deal out there within reasonable range. I did see the Springfield recall too Dog, which is why I'd prefer to get their newest model possible if I do go that route. Hell, maybe I'll get both. You never can tell. Slim Shield for t-shirt weather, Mod for hoodie weather.

easy fix if you didn't like the texture. I too find it aggressive.

I carry a shield 40. It's a great summer carry pistol trigger is not that good but OK for me, for the price is hard to beat. I will say this though if I had more patience I would have saved up a few dollars more and gone with the Glock 27. It has a way better trigger little longer barrel and better compacity.

I have different pistols for what I want to carry that day, saying that the Glock 43 or Shield make great comfortable forget your carrying them options. Some people cant get over 7-8 round capacity and they go larger. It is all personal preference, saying that I have a pistol for however I am feeling and wearing/activity I am doing. From pocket carry, comfortable IWB, shoulder holster, to high capacity OWB I have it covered. Saying that my glock 43/shield is carry 90% of my work week.

I fell in love with the shield after the first time I shot it. If you are looking for a slim great feeling gun then that is it. If the XDS has the same trigger as the XD then that thing is absolute trash. That said go hold a Walther as well before you buy.

Agreed with most comments except the PPQ part as I personally think it has the best trigger. Probably to big to try again as you stated the cz was too big and they are about the same size. My vote goes to the shield for price and size out of your list but if you don't mind a little extra weight the XDS 4.0 with Talon grips is what I sold my shield for as follow up shots we much easier for me.

I take the biggest gun I can take where I am going, beit a 1911 ora glock 43. All depends on what I have on and where I am going.
