What is with all the Mosin love? Seems like just about any bolt action hunting rifle with a mid-range scope chambered in 308 or 30-06 would have it beat across the board in utility and ease of maintenance.

It's called mosinitis..... very hard to cure. .

Only one survivor I know of. :045:

Check the attitude, mister . . . you're behind enemy lines now. :angryfire:
Pay no attention to Madpick. I sold off 12 of those beasts and have never felt better.

Well, I think it's okay to have things that you don't "need."

If we only had things we "needed" we could all probably live in a small "hotel room sized" house with a hotplate and refrigerator for a kitchen.

My wife and I live in a 4 bedroom house and it's FULL of mostly "wants".

I wasn't making any disparaging remarks about your favorite pinko commie bolt rifle!

He's poking fun at you...

As for Mosin Love! WTF!

Why the hate?
I mean... have you truly shot a Mosin... when you couldn't find ammo (I was and am shooting it $0.19 per round) while most folks couldn't even plop down $1 per round even if they could find it. My Mosin got me through hard times of 2012-2014 ammo availability and prices...

Plus I have experienced getting my Mosin M44 delivered directly to my home (C&R license)... now that was awesome!
Shooting a bit of history and if it breaks... it comes with a burial device (bayonet)... lol

Or as someone put it to me one time... you take the metal buttplate and use it to dig a trench long, wide and deep enough to bury it. :rofl9:

I have:

.308 Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle
9mm Beretta Cx4 Storm carbine
9mm Beretta 92FS (uses same mags as carbine-15and 30 rnd)
9mm Bersa ultra compact
10/22 rifle
Ruger SR22
.22lr revolver

and

a Mosin

I consider them all must-haves and all FUN! The only thing I might like to add is a .308 semi-auto rifle. That would be a good addition and keep the calibers limited the way I prefer.
