Received a Remington 12ga barrel in the mail today from a Gunbroker auction I won last week. Only problem is, it's not the barrel I ordered. What I bought is a 28" 11-87 barrel with 3" chamber, threaded for RemChokes, with a matte finish. What I received is a 25.5" 1100 barrel with a 2.75" chamber, fixed Modified choke, with a glossy finish. It's apparent that the seller shipped the wrong barrel to the wrong buyer (I saw his other listing for this barrel). What are the odds this gets sorted out in a satisfactory manner?

The odds are not in your favor.

I picked up the last of the dillon goodies from Mudflat_Mike that he snagged for me while on the road. I hope to get the new press and other goodies mounted up on platforms next weekend.

I didn't even splurge for the extra fancy maple, going to be working on how to best bring out that grain and curl.

Damn, congrats! I really want to get one of their Southern Mountain Rifle Kits one day. Though I'm a bit terrified of getting into a whole new hobby...

I've built a few, mostly cheaper kits like Pedersoli or Traditions, it's really quite fun to shoot them, although real black powder is sometimes tough to get, there are substitutes that work fine with cap locks, with flinters however I prefer the real stuff. I am starting to look into how to produce my own powder. I was debating between the Southern Mountain and the Colonial...in the end I went with the Colonial because of caliber.

I went down the DIY black powder rabbit hole once. I got into a forum where the guys were making their own BP for cannons. The general consensus was that charcoal made from hemp plants made the best BP.
