Broke my broken AR bolt cherry in my 7.65x39 Commie AR15 Franken Build. At least it was closing time when it happened.
Before that, I tried out my 5.56 pistol....runs like a champ on brass cased Federal M855 5.56, but not so great on steel cased Tula .223

I`ve heard of people making heat shields from cut up soda/beer cans in the past. Might be worth looking into. thumbsup

That is a good idea.

I have seen the tapco lower has a heat shield built in.

The range report shows that leather glove helps out, but I still have no left index finger print remaining, rest of the hand was well protected.

I guess I'll resort back to the ove-glove for my support hand, or maybe just buy a 2nd rifle to alternate shooting between cooling...

Called Aimpoint tech support to verify the serial number on my newly delivered Comp M4s. I figured it was the real deal buying through one of their online distributors but wanted that 100% confidence you only get from the horses mouth, 'naw'm'sayin'? Anyway, Its the real McCoy! The gentleman on the other end of the line was very professional and courteous; only took him a matter of seconds to fire up his software and verify the S/N. +1 for Aimpoint! :thumbsup2:

I cant wait to get home and get that sucker mounted on my boomstick!

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys. It realizes the ancient dream of the Jovian thunderbolt, and as such it is the embodiment of personal power. For this reason it exercises a curious influence over the minds of most men, and in its best examples it constitutes an object of affection unmatched by any other inanimate object.
